​Printmakers Circle’s exhibition Impressed celebrates over 10 years of this group of professional artists who specialise in printmaking and live & work in North Yorkshire. To mark a decade of collaborating & exhibiting together, they have published a book of the same name. Impressed features in-depth interviews with each of the members giving insights into their techniques, working methods and inspirations. The book will be on sale at the exhibition alongside framed and unframed original prints. Amongst the techniques on show will be etchings, screen prints, collagraphs, linocuts, monotypes & carborundum prints. Printmakers Circle members will be showing their latest Artifact Print exchange work alongside a selection of prints from each individual member in an exhibition that showcases some of the best printmaking in the North. Techniques used include collagraph, carborundum, monotype, monoprint, screenprint, lithography, linocut, etching, aquatint & drypoint. Sunny Bank Mills gallery is a lovely spacious exhibition space with a cafe and shop within the historic mill complex.

ARTIFACT II

Artifact II is the second collective exhibition of the Printmakers Circle to be shown at Ryedale Folk Museum. This exhibition will include a wide range of traditional and contemporary printmaking techniques and styles and will respond to the theme of ‘artifact’ – a man-made cultural object, reflecting and inspired by the rich heritage of arts and culture in Ryedale Folk Museum, its collections and surrounding area. The exhibition will feature a suite of specially prepared prints, exploring the theme through a range of relief and intaglio processes including etching, linocut, wood cut, wood engraving, collograph, monotype, screen print, drypoint and polymer.

HEPWORTH PRINT FAIR

The Hepworth Wakefield’s popular Print Fair returns in 2019 with a host of exciting stalls, activities and events celebrating the art of printmaking. Held in The Calder, our converted mill space, and featuring a handpicked selection of over 50 printmakers, collectives and galleries from around the UK, the fair will provide a friendly atmosphere in which to find work by artists, illustrators and designers working in print.​

SUMMERS CALL

Printmakers Circle have been invited to exhibit at Masham Gallery and members will be showing a mix of new work created especially for the exhibition, and inspired by the return of the migrating swifts to Masham, and other prints celebrating aspects of the season.
