Ian Scott Massie was born in London in 1952 and grew up in Buckinghamshire close to the childhood home of Paul Nash – an abiding influence in his work. He was further inspired by the vibrant work of his school art teacher, Romeo di Girolamo (current President of the Royal Society of British Artists), and began painting and printmaking professionally while a student in Durham. His print work is mainly reduction screen printing using the design philosophy of early transport posters as his inspiration. He is the author of ten books and specialises in solo exhibitions based on a chosen theme. The main outlet for his work is Masham Gallery in North Yorkshire. www.ianscottmassie.com
